I requested the return of the fishing derby. Young people who grow up having fun outside become physically and mentally stronger adults. Plus, if the learn to love being outside they will work to protect nature.

I asked we celebrate Earth Day and local volunteers. 

We know celebrate Earth Day with a volunteer project. We also honor service projects that our community does locally. 

Our park district honors the legacy of MLK by a day of service. 

This event continues to grow and bring people together to serve.
